you give an email, they register it, you pay for the pxl, you get a card- they live mint'd, then you use your registered email plus card you got handed to "view" the pxl...which was really just a trick to get you to download their node app/create a wallet

Really impressive accomplishment, tbh

I have Transient sending me another scope to make all the improvements I want and am exploring better design options with the printer and the designer. I am also going to be distributing the cards to people I trust to hand out at events. No, we will not be handing these out at Marfa. The target audience is very simple: people who like art and don't have a wallet. I'll be back with more updates as we progress. Hope you're all well!
-
If any issue with the designer, DM me!

3) To tackle this, I am hiring a professional designer to totally overhaul the physical card and make it something bespoke. I am also going to make it a better experience overall. Both of these, I hope, will lead to a higher hit rate on the card itself. Side note: I think we actually handed out closer to 600 cards instead of the 800 I said in the post. So our hit rate was well above 10%. I'd like to get it in the 15-20% range
-
Good thinking getting a designer in too👍

2) The card has a singular purpose: get the recipient to scratch, which then leads to the wallet setup. What I learned at Toledo is that TRUST is the single biggest barrier to getting people to do so. People simply don't trust clicking on something that is "free"
-
have you been to node? They had a fairly smooth setup for kim assendorfs drop there
-
I was not there but I heard it was done well
-
-
There must be a way out.... We need to break that trust barrier.
-
-
But looking forwards I have a few more things to add: 1) I've run the idea by a few people who work in the space and they love it. The most common ask is "how can I get some cards to hand out?" So that's what I'm going to do
-
I didn't want to go into too much detail in that post simply because we learned a ton and are still iterating
-
Hey all! I just got back from travel and have had a week or so to digest the Toledo event. You can read about it here: https://x.com/batsoupyum/status/2104923466596335750?s=20

Welcome back Bat
-
Insane! Appreciate the transparent breakdown.🤌 Curious how the claim flow actually felt for the people who were brand new😊
-
it's clunky and a UX nightmare. I made it as tight as possible (I think) but am limited by the constraints of web3. Not much you can do about it
-
Digital product designer here for 27 years, Bat. If in the future wanna discuss specific UX flows or so, DM me.

Respect for being so open about the struggle. We’re all learning from this
