"Kalshi is announcing today that Jeff Bandman aka @[6529Guardian] is returning to become CEO of Kalshi Prime, their CFTC-registered FCM"
A few thoughts:
1/ This is a great job for Jeff and he obviously has to take the job! This is arguably the platonic ideal job for Jeff. When he told me it was offered, within 30 seconds of him telling me, I was like "bro, you must take this" (master of the obvious, he knew that without me telling him ofc)
2/ Jeff was involved with Kalshi from ~ the beginning. He helped them figure out how to get federally regulated when this was considered somewhere between "unusual" and "no chance".
His main (but not only*) role at 6529 was helping us through a different version of the same exercise. Some of the "behind the scenes stuff" that people don't see is actually hard and important in crypto/NFTs (e.g. having bank accounts so we can pay fiat obligations!)
*he ambassador-ed at some art world stuff too!
3/ Now he gets to do it again for a third time at Kalshi but with everyone watching him.
4/ This is all super friendly. We are good friends, we are all all on great terms and he and I talk constantly.
5/ Also he has promised me that his absolute first priority is ensuring that Kalshi does a 180 on their perp plans and instead launch perps for Meme Cards
6/ I look forward to the not-wholly-sane-parts of the timeline losing their minds that "WE TOLD YOU IT WAS A CFTC DARK OPS TO HOLD DOWN THE REAL ARTISTS (TM)"
7/ We are in good shape. A lot of what Jeff spent the last few years helping us build is now built. We are at a different stage [blah blah blah insert boring GPT stuff that you can just hallucinate on its behalf] - anyway we are in the "hard-core" coding part of the cycle, we have our (hallucinate a lot of boring but important infra) all in place
So: big congratulations to @[6529Guardian]. We are going to miss having him around every day, we are grateful for everything he built here, and I am happy for him.

i updated the proposal on gift approvals based on some discussions with @[Cuttle]
latest one here
It is very clear to me having done the Casey Reas gift and the Magnum gift is that each gift needs to be approved as the gift itself, even if we have "pre-approved collections"
Given this I feel it is important to pass the resolution below to make that a clear process

when you get a chance, I would love for you to read my storms on the 6529 Network Museum and then the pages they point to and share your feedback.

I have also submitted for voting a second proposed gift/donation from me to the 6529 Network Museum that is focused on Magnum documentary photography. I think it is a good fit (that is why I proposed) and present the case, the counter case and the response to the counter case (all IMHO). I would appreciate your vote in favor if you agree

I have dropped two Storms about my recent work on the 6529 Network Museum. I think they are meaningful reading and I would appreciate if you would read them

it is a very big deal
the very specific short-term tailwind is now my ideas are actually implementable by agents in reasonable time frames as opposed to requiring building and managing a large human organization
made huge progress this week
or more tangible than before
i will make what i have in mind clear
by tomorrow, worst case friday
for example, i think as a "one thing we do, not all things we do" we can build a very important next generation museum, that has a completely different structure
let alone "you can stand on NFTs and build a new form of organization or society"
"collectibles"
"digital art"
99.999% of people do not understand or care about NFTs in the basic case yet
waves hands around at "all this"
how many people believe NFTs will actually change the world?
people have not even understood 1% of how revolutionary I am yet
last time I checked, I am very much alive
why the past tense
1/ Freedom To Transact
2/ Seize The Memes of Production
3/ NFT Delegation
4/ Don't Let The Institutions Steal Your JPGs
5/ Art of the Network
All were first a thread months or years before they spread. Freedom to Transact made it into a DJT and JFK Jr speech
It is all good. just like I was right about those, I will be right in the end about everything, including the biggest idea of all

you will never guess where they got the name from :slightly_smiling_face:
will be far enough along to do a walk through tomorrow i think
making immense progress and having immense fun on the network museum
cheap
I think we can start with some easier things
it is going great
will be able to demo some cool things tomorrow
the scholarship side is going well
i think it is going to be pretty awesome
ok steady progress on network museum work - have another three waves of work that will finish overnight or in the morning and then I will think it is a decent first attempt and we can talk about it :slightly_smiling_face:
Basically tolen community that has ppl who believe this wins
