idea #1 is the right one but in principle if there is something where there is an element of I dunno confidentiality

a/ the more scalable way is "you mint the card with a temp card", do the thing and then we change to the actual thing (this obviously can work at any scale

because "rewrite the whole site" sounds hard let's get the home page right

it is incomprehensible

so of course nobody is going to convert into a DAU or subscriber or anything else
