we kept drinking
anyway we were too drunk to be concerned that we were mugged
but literally my first thought was "wait, why would I give these kids my wallet" and then that went out of my mouth
when you are an aspiring gangster
really kindof embarrassing to lose to three drunk investment bankers/mgmt consultants
the kids definitely did not win their gang initiation mugging merit badge
I am incredibly lucky that I did not get knifed
my shirt got ripped
and my my friends and kicking and punching and so on
so they jumped me
like I was too drunk to realize I was being mugged
and I was too slow and I was like "why would I give you my wallet"
3
and said "give me your wallet"
come up to me on Houston LES older days
these three kids 17 years old
the muggers must have thought I was slow
obviously I was drunk
it is true it works. i am for sure not a wimp. i lived in NYC for a very long time, i got mugged on the lower east side, beat up, fought back, kept my wallet and continued to go out drinking and partying until 4am (I woke up the next day and could not move my neck)
and I can tell you nobody likes the annoying low-level stuff - it pushes away people, hurts the experience for those who stay and I think does in time escalate
"oh, look we found the last reserve of Great Pandas. Let's use it to test our bombs"
like what is wrong with you
what do you mean you are going to decriminalize shoplifting there
it is one of the great shopping districts on the planet
it is bizarre that "yeah we should probably keep shoplifters out of SoHo" is some type of long-lost art of governance
and everyone would love them
they could do all the other social stuff they want
if Democrats could just do that
it was very pleasant and very nice
was not NAZI DEATH CAMPS or whatever
NYC in the early 200s
and you know
ran it quantitatively
but the master was bloomberg
guiliani started that theory
and NYC become the safest top 50 city in america
no muss, no fuss no drama just data driven policing
guiliani started it but the real master was bloomberg
it is not that hard, it is not some lost art
without dealing with this
you can't have modern urbanism and all its goodies
that everyone else has to deal with
and cause a completely disordinate amount of mayham
by definition any murderer is fucked up
that are somehow fucked up
it is a very small cohort
over large cohorts
it is absolutely NOT the case that it is somehow evenly distributed
is staggering when you look at the stats
the amount of mayhem created by a tiny number of people
